Prerequisite: ECON 100, ECON 180, or ECON 180A; or both ECON 101 and ECON 102. A survey of the major issues of development economics. Economic structure of low-income countries and primary causes for their limited economic growth. Economic goals and policy alternatives. Role of developed countries in the development of poor countries. Selected case studies.
