MUS 296 - Spring-Term Topics in Music

Planned Offering: Offered in spring when interest is expressed and departmental resources permit



Prerequisite: Varies by topic. Selected studies in music with a focus on history and culture, non-classical genres, ethnomusicological topics, or performance. May be repeated for degree credit with permission and if the topics are different.

Topics for Spring 2012

MUS 296-01: Introduction to World Music (4). No prerequisite. This course is meant as an introduction to a very few of the world’s musics, and to the study of music in general, viewed from an academic, and specifically an ethnomusicological perspective. (HA) Benamou.
