LAW 731 - Immigration Law Credits: 3 Description: This course surveys the constitutional, statutory, and regulatory framework of U.S. immigration and naturalization law. Topics addressed include non-immigrant (temporary) and immigrant (permanent) employment and family-based visas categories; criteria and procedures for entry and adjustment of status; basis for removal and defenses to removal; humanitarian relief; and citizenship. Students will also study the historical development of U.S. immigration policy and examine the current regime of administrative law and procedure as it is actually experienced by individuals and corporations.
