The accounting major at Washington and Lee University builds on the liberal arts course foundation, increasing analytical and communication skills while providing the knowledge necessary to work in any number of business areas. Majors take a combination of accounting & finance, economics, and business administration courses which prepares them for a variety of jobs.

Choose three credits from the following list: Upper Level Accounting
Choose six credits from the following list: Business Courses
Choose six credits of 200-300 level BUS courses, except for BUS 202 . Additional Electives
Choose nine credits from the following list: - 200-300 level ACCT course not previously counted for credit;
- 300-level FIN course;
- ECON 215
- ECON 271
Note(s):
To satisfy the CPA education requirements for the State of Virginia, we recommend students complete: - all five courses listed in Upper Level Accounting (four will satisfy the Accounting requirement and the fifth will count towards the Business requirement), and
- three additional credits of coursework in business, economics, or finance.
