German Literature major leading to BA degree

A major in German literature leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree requires at least 36 credits as follows:
- At least six credits from GERM 262, 263, 264, 395, or from other approved German or cognate courses
- At least six credits from GERM 301, 302, 303, 304, 311, 312, or from other approved German courses
- Three credits in each of the following three groups:
GERM 313 or 315
GERM 314 or 316
GERM 347 or 349
- Six additional credits in literature chosen from the following: GERM 313, 314, 315, 316, 318, 320, 321 (if topic is literary), 347, 349, 395
- The remaining credits must be taken from a list of approved courses, available from the department, with no more than six credits in any one discipline
- Students must pass a comprehensive literature proficiency examination conducted by the department before or during their last long term prior to graduation.
