LAW 272P - Federal Energy Regulation Practicum.


The class will study the federal government’s regulation of energy products and services and will focus primarily on regulation of the electric and natural gas industries by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission under the Federal Power Act and the Natural Gas Act and by the Securities and Exchange Commission under the Public Utility Holding Company Act. After reviewing the basic regulatory framework, the class will consider controversies arising from deregulation and restructuring efforts being implemented at both the federal and state levels with respect to the electric and natural gas industries.Five hours.Carr
