CBSC 263 - Language, Culture, and Emotion

Prerequisite: CBSC 112 or 114, and CBSC 250. Prerequisite: CBSC 112 or 114, and CBSC 250. Learners will develop an understanding of the psychology of human emotion with a focus on language and culture. This course involves an extensive dive into various emotion theories and emotion research from an interdisciplinary perspective. Some areas that will be explored are: the role of physiology and neuroscience in emotions, emotion development, emotion regulation, emotion in decision making, and mental health. Importantly, we will discuss the role of language and culture in these processes, and how these processes themselves may influence language and culture.
