POL 396: Theories of Power (3). Reading social scientists’ varied attempts to theorize power, students develop a rich and critical understanding of how power is defined, how it works, who can use it, and who can resist it. Students each apply theoretical reading in a micro-level study of how power operates in a specific context—in a political body, in a literary or artistic production, in a student organization, or in other fields that may suit student interests.
