POL 388 - Architecture of Urban Community

Credits: 3 Prerequisite: a 100-level Politics course or instructor consent. This seminar investigates the literal and social architecture of democratic community in cities around the globe, examining how the physical spaces and political and economic power structures of urban life support or constrain the civic relationships of residents of varying backgrounds and unequal socioeconomic positions, shaping citizens’ opportunities for collective empowerment and self-determination.
