LAW 200 - Accounting and Finance for Lawyers. This course examines the relationship between financial information and legal problems in both litigation and transactional settings. The course will begin by examining the financial record-keeping process, generally accepted accounting principles, and the content and form of financial statements. Students will then analyze and interpret financial statements. Students will also consider how several important economic questions play out in the litigation setting, including financially based calculations of damages, the use of structured settlements, and tax considerations in settlements.
