Prerequisite: Completion of FW FDR. Every Tuesday expeditions involve moderate to challenging hiking. A course emphasizing students’ creative encounters with their environment and their writing about it, along with major works and writers. This expeditionary course in environmental writing allows a four-weeks’ immersive study and explores the work of writers from Virgil, Emerson, Whitman, and Frost to Charles Frazier, Annie Dillard, William Cronan, and Gary Snyder.
