MUS 441 - Applied Music: Fourth Year Credits: 1-2 Planned Offering: All terms
Prerequisites: Instructor consent; seniors must have permission of the department head. One credit is earned for ten 45-minute private lessons and a minimum of five hours practice a week during fall and winter terms; seven 45-minute private lessons and a minimum of seven hours of practice a week are required during the spring term. (A fee is charged for applied music. A music major is entitled to one applied music course per term without charge.) Note: Note: A limit of nine credits for nonmajors and 12 credits for majors in applied music courses (140s, 240s, 340s, 440s) is allowable toward a degree. Available in brass, jazz improvisation, percussion, piano, strings, voice, and woodwinds. Special departmental permission is required for students wanting two-credit applied music courses. Staff.
