LAW 313 - Tutorials

Tutorial - International Law in U.S. Politics (Fall 2013 and Spring 2014)

This course offers a limited number of students the opportunity to research, draft, and publish short articles and information pieces on developing issues concerning international law in the United States.  Participating students will join students from law schools including Georgetown, Yale, American, and Berkeley as part of a new nationwide consortium of law students who are interested in international law in the United States.  Students will track developments in international law as it pertains to the U.S. political and judicial process and will research and write short pieces describing, analyzing, and/or commenting on these issues.  Many students will have their work published on the consortium’s webpage, with the goal of informing the public and facilitating public discussion.  One hour.  Professor Cope

Tutorial - Social Science and Legal Decision-Making (Spring 2014)

This tutorial explores law and social science with a particular emphasis on psychology and empirical research methods.  The course will explore fundamental scholarship related to cognitive psychology, behavioral economics and research methodology both in theory and as applied with a particular focus on international law and dispute settlement.  Two hours.  Professor Franck

Students may pursue specialized studies in areas of the law which are of particular interest to them in the form of tutorials. Faculty members may conduct tutorials for small groups of students on issues not otherwise taught in the curriculum. One to two hours of ungraded credit will be granted per tutorial, depending on size and scope. No more than two tutorials will be given credit toward graduation.
