German Language major leading to BA degree

A major in German language leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree requires at least 36 credits as follows:
- GERM 262 (or at least three credits from GERM 263 or 264, an approved substitute in German language or a cognate field)
- GERM 311, 312, 332
- At least six credits from GERM 303, 304 or from other approved German courses
- GERM 347 or 349
- Six additional credits in literature chosen from the following: GERM 313, 314, 315, 316, 318, 320, 321 (if topic is literary)
- The remaining credits must be taken from a list of approved courses, available from the department, with no more than six credits in any one discipline
- Students must pass an oral and written proficiency examination conducted by the department before or during their last long term prior to graduation.
