ECON 272 - Japan’s Modern Economy Credits: 3 Planned Offering: Fall or Winter
Prerequisites: ECON 101 and 102. Analysis of the contemporary Japanese economy, including the comparative structure of its economy; the macroeconomics of the late 1980s “bubble economy” and subsequent growth; the changing role of women and its impact on fertility; and the future of an economy facing population decline and the fiscal burden of a rapidly aging population.
