BIOL 2700 - Animal Physiology in a Changing Climate Prerequisite: BIOL 1111 and BIOL 1112 . FDR: Lab Science (SL) Experiential Learning (EXP): Yes Credits: 4
Climate change, both how it affects us and how we deal with it, is one of the most important issues of our time. This is a problem-based learning course with an integrated lab that will provide students with a grounding in animal physiology before exploring the ways a changing climate interacts with physiology to affect human health, emerging diseases, and animal conservation. In addition to practice with reading scientific literature and communicating science to a general audience, students will gain experience in experimental design, data collection and analysis, effective teamwork, and responsible conduct of research.
