MUS 1022 - Game Changers in Rock: Glam Rock and Glam Metal 1970-1990

This course will examine the glam rock and glam metal movements as significant phenomena in both musical and sociohistorical contexts. Students will immerse themselves in the works of representative artists and explore various cultural factors that influenced their compositional and presentational styles. Featured artists will include David Bowie, Marc Bolan, New York Dolls, Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick, Bon Jovi, and Poison.
