DANC 3301 - Experiential Anatomy Prerequisite: Instructor consent. FDR: Fine Arts (HA) Credits: 3
A study of human motion as it relates to the locomotor and physical activities of the dancer. The course covers the planes of the body; vocabulary of the skeleton; and specific muscles, their actions, and how they relate to the dancer’s body. Injury prevention through alignment and proper movement is considered, as well as the reversal of body alienation. Attention is given to the application of course information to technique class and performance. No dance experience is required.
