LAW 622 - What Can Lawyers Learn From Artists?

Course Type: Upper Level Elective
Credits: 1

Description: This course invites students to learn lawyering skills from non-lawyers. Students will engage with five different forms of art (such as fiction, photography, dance, opera, theater, and architecture) by viewing or listening to the art form; reflecting on the professional skills required to produce such art; evaluating the utility of such skills for the legal representation of clients; and reflecting on any social commentary that the art offers on legal issues, challenges and solutions. This class will meet five times over the semester in 3-hour blocks.
