LAW 740 - Federal Criminal Law

Description: This is an advanced criminal law course and is intended to provide a practical foundation for anyone interested in being a prosecutor or defense attorney. This course will cover the practical legal and factual issues related to several criminal federal criminal statutes and is intended to be a companion course to the Federal White Collar Crime course offered during the fall semester. This course will cover several federal criminal offenses, including violent crime, drug trafficking and money laundering, human trafficking, civil rights, domestic and international terrorism, espionage, cybercrime, and racketeering. The focus of the course will fall more intensely on the practical issues, such as critical evidentiary (factual) and legal issues, encountered when prosecuting and defending these federal criminal offenses.
