POV 121 - Introduction to Effective Altruism

This weekly seminar introduces students to one of the most promising, if controversial, approaches to the responsible life: Effective Altruism or “Doing the Most Good.” Participants will meet weekly to discuss some of the main questions related to effective altruism and some of the main objections to the movement. Because our focus is on doing the most good, the course will focus on applying the course ideas to our own personal, professional, and civic lives, both now and in the future.
