CSCI 315 - Artificial Intelligence

Prerequisite: CSCI 209. The goal of this course is to give students the skills and knowledge to participate in the field of Deep Learning. For the first half of the course students design, train, and test simple neural networks using the NumPy package in Python. In the second half of the course students learn how to use current industry-grade Python packages (PyTorch / TensorFlow) to train and test much more powerful deep-learning networks. In addition to being able to design, train, and test such networks, students will gain an understanding of the history and philosophy of AI, the current challenges it faces, and the prospects for the future.
