LAW 615 - Electric Power Seminar

Description: This three-credit course will be composed of two segments: a two-credit seminar focused on the history and transformation of electric power regulation; and a one-credit symposium focused on the practical skills associated with the development of a large scale solar power project. Major topics to be covered in the seminar include the transformation of electric power generation resources and demand; the evolution of electric utility regulation in response to economic, social and environmental concerns; and current efforts to decarbonize the electric power industry to address climate change. The practical skills symposium will focus on negotiation and drafting of key solar project documents including purchase power, interconnection, and EPC agreements.
