LAW 633 - Law of Financial Technology Seminar

Description: This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental lawyering skills associated with a trusts and estates practice. The course focuses on estate planning for persons of moderate wealth (specifically, persons whose wealth falls below the thresholds at which the estate and gift taxes apply). The classroom component of the course will address all topics through the lens of simulated practice experiences, in which students will interview and counsel clients, draft estate planning documents, draft letters to clients, counsel executors and trustees, etc. The course will also include a live-client component, in which students will interview and counsel estate planning clients and draft the necessary documents under the supervision of practicing lawyers.
