LAW 725 - Conflict of Laws Course Type: Upper Level Elective Credits: 3
Description: The course examines a series of interrelated subjects: choice of law, involving conflicting laws of two or more states, each of which arguably could be applied to the case at hand; constitutional limits on a state’s power to choose its own law and to subject nonresidents to the jurisdiction of its courts; recognition and enforcement of judgments issued by courts of other states; and the unique problems posed when the conflict of laws is international rather than interstate.
