ENGN 295 - Intermediate Special Topics in Engineering Credits: 3 credits for fall or winter; 4 credits for spring.
Prerequisites: Vary with topic. Intermediate work in bioengineering, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics or materials science. May be repeated for a maximum of six credits if the topics are different.
Winter 2022, ENGN 295: Case Studies in Environmental Engineering (3 credits). Prerequisite: ENGN 203. It’s one thing to chat about environmental issues, and another to fix them. This class is divided into four 3-week case studies of pressing environmental challenges and their associated engineering analytics and process remediations. Issues may include eutrophication, potable reuse, biosolids disposal, pervasive ground water organics, disinfection by-products, renewable greenhouse gases and topics of student interest.
