LAW 395 - Patent Law. This course involves an in-depth examination of the substantive law and procedure for obtaining and enforcing patent rights. Specifically, we will examine the various legal doctrines and institutions that govern U.S. patent law. We will also discuss important policy issues related to patent law, including its role in promoting innovation, the role of non-practicing entities in the patent system, and potential reforms to the patent system by legislative, regulatory, and judicial actors. A technical or scientific background is not required for this class. Credits: 2. Seaman Prerequisite: LAW 320 - Intellectual Property.
