LAW 204P - Advanced Federal Procedure: Environmental Litigation Practicum.

This Practicum explores complex procedural and substantive issues that arise in federal environmental litigation. It will simulate an immediate possession proceeding in an eminent domain proceeding under the Natural Gas Act. Such cases require a synthesis of principles from multiple substantive areas of law and present multiple procedural issues. Students will be challenged to develop creative procedural strategies using the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and innovative substantive arguments based on the Natural Gas Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Water Act, constitutional law, and administrative law. Students will also develop practical skills in research, drafting motions and memoranda, and oral advocacy. Student assessment will be based on three written assignments, a moot oral argument, and course preparation and participation. Three hours. Teaney
