LAW 204 - Abortion Controversy Seminar.

This seminar will broadly examine the abortion controversy.  The course will evaluate Roe v. Wade in depth, but will also range well beyond Supreme Court cases to cover such topics as the rhetoric of the controversy, the use of visual imagery, the role of religious values, fetal personhood, feminism, and reasons women abort.  There is a writing requirement that can be satisfied in one of two ways.  Students can (1) write a research paper structured to satisfy the second-year writing requirement; or (2) write four short reaction papers.  Students should take this course only if they want to participate in robust discussion about abortion. Two hours. Calhoun Not offered in 2018-2019.
