Fall 2016, BUS 305A-01: Seminar in International Business: Business and the Natural Environment (3). Preference to BSADM or JMCB majors during the first round of registration. Environmental Studies majors and minors may contact the instructor for consideration. Meets the international requirement for business administration majors. This seminar examines the role of business in addressing today’s environmental challenges. Some of the questions the course addresses include: How do companies contribute to environmental problems? What actions should they take to address these problems? What barriers do companies face as they attempt to act in an environmentally sustainable way? Additionally, we examine consumer behavior and how that affects business’s actions. Environmental issues are of local and global concern, and the seminar covers both perspectives.
