LAW 363 - Legal Method.


This is a skills-development course that focuses on improving legal analysis and problem-solving skills.  Secondary emphasis will be placed on improving doctrinal understanding and refining study practices.  Problems are modeled on the Multistate Performance Test.  Third-semester students only; limited enrollment. Pass-No Pass. 

This course is designed to develop fundamental lawyering skills.   Students will sort detailed factual materials and separate relevant from irrelevant facts; analyze statutory, case, and administrative materials for applicable principles of law; apply the relevant law to the relevant facts in a manner likely to resolve a client’s problem; communicate the analysis effectively in writing; and complete a lawyering task within time constraints.
