ARAB 111 - First-Year Arabic I Credits: 4
An introduction to fuSHaa “formal Arabic” along with shaami, “the Arabic variety spoken in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine.” Preparation to function in a range of situations and to understand the varieties of Arabic and the ways they, interact in real-life communication. The course embraces a dynamic view of Arabic reflecting authentic communication with and among native speakers across various contexts and geographical areas in the Arab world. Questions?
