Prerequisites: ARTH 102 or ARTH 140, or instructor’s consent; and sophomore, junior or senior standing. An exploration of the history, philosophy and practical aspects of museums. Topics of discussion include governance and administration, collections, exhibitions and education. The course alternates weekly readings and class discussion with field trips to regional museums. Requires short papers and a major project. Hobbs. Planned Offering: Spring 2017 and alternate years
