J.D./M.H.A

The Washington and Lee University School of Law currently offers one dual degree program, a J.D./M.H.A program run jointly with Virginia Commonwealth University.  The program is designed for students who wish to combine a solid legal education with exemplary preparation for a career in healthcare management.  For more information on the program see http://law.wlu.edu/admissions/program-information/jdmha-program.

Study Abroad

For the 2016-2017 academic year, the following international exchange program is available:

Trinity College Dublin, founded in the 16th century by Queen Elizabeth I, is a leading European university.  A broad array of international courses - with a particular emphasis on the law of the European Union - is available there.  In recent years, the city of Dublin has been one of the most dynamic in Europe, offering numerous cultural, commercial, and political activities.

W&L students would normally spend only one semester at Trinity. Openings are limited. Study at Trinity may present challenges in meeting the law school’s experiential credit graduation requirements. Students considering Trinity should discuss scheduling with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, who has the authority to grant waivers in appropriate cases.

As soon as students are nominated to the Trinity Program, they should contact both Kelley McCabe at mccabek@tcd.ie and Wendy Bernard at wendy.bernard@tcd.ie.  Students applying to the Trinity program must officially apply to the International Student Affairs Office at Trinity before any arrangements with them are final.  The application form must be submitted no later than March 1st for students visiting in October and no later than September 1st for students visiting in January.  Click here for more information about Trinity College Dublin.
