ARTS 225 - The Cyanotype Process

Prerequisite: ARTS 120 or ARTS 121 Discovered in 1842 by Sir John Herschel, the cyanotype (blueprint) process is an iron-based process that produces an intense deep blue when exposed to UV light such as sunlight. In this course, students will create cyanotypes in all shapes and sizes using found materials, stencils, and digital negatives on materials ranging from paper to fabric.
